Terms of Service
Last updated the current version
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of LSFConnect (the "Service"), operated by London Screenwriters' Festival. They form a binding agreement between you and us. By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms; if you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make a material change we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, give notice through the Service. Your continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. These Terms took effect on the date shown at the top of this page.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 12 years old to hold an account. By registering you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you give us is accurate and kept up to date.
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login credentials confidential. Tell us promptly at hello@lsfconnect.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. One person may hold one account unless we agree otherwise in writing.
2. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service lawfully and in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy and Safeguarding & Prohibited Content policy, which are incorporated into these Terms. We may suspend or remove content, or suspend or close accounts, that breach those policies or these Terms.
3. Your content and licence
You keep all rights you already hold in the content you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for technical purposes, and display Your Content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service. This licence ends when you delete Your Content or close your account, except where the content has been shared with others who have not deleted it, or where we must retain it to comply with law.
You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to submit Your Content and that it does not infringe the rights of others or break the law. You are solely responsible for Your Content.
4. Courses, payments, and merchant of record
The Service may offer paid courses and other digital products. Where a price is shown, London Screenwriters' Festival is the seller and merchant of record for that purchase. Payment is taken through our third-party payment processors (for example Stripe and PayPal); we do not store your full card details.
Unless stated otherwise, a paid course grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to access that course for the lifetime of the Service — there is no recurring charge and no end date. Access is for your own use and may not be shared, resold, or redistributed.
Prices are shown in the currency indicated at checkout and, where applicable, include or exclude taxes as stated. Your statutory rights, including any cooling-off rights, and our refund practices are set out in our Refunds & Cancellations policy.
5. Intellectual property
The Service itself, including its software, design, text, and branding (other than Your Content and third-party materials), belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, scrape, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except as the law expressly permits.
6. Third-party services
The Service may link to or integrate third-party websites, embeds, or services that we do not control. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service, and we will give reasonable notice of material changes that adversely affect paid access where we can.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service and its educational content are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties and do not warrant any particular outcome from using the Service or its courses.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or its members. Where we close a paid account without cause, we will deal with any outstanding access fairly and in line with our Refunds & Cancellations policy.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
